Description

Carved wooden figure with a large head and hook shaped legs/feet. The figure has a wide forehead, a heavy brow and deep, close-together eyes. On the left side of its head, the figure’s ear has two holes through it. It is missing the right ear. Its nose is long and has large, flared nostrils. Its mouth is formed by two carved straight lines. The front of the body has various motifs incised into it. On the upper left side is a triangle-like motif; in the centre is an abstract design with grain-like shapes protruding from three points and a circle in its centre. There is an abstract face incised in the lower left side of the body. The form of the figure culminates in an anchor or hook-like shape, with one prong on the left and one on the right. On the back of the head is a protrusion that forms a large hole through which a piece of string is tied for hanging.
