Description

String puppet with a decorated yellow hat that has a high centre point and ear-area embellishments. The skin is painted white and the facial features, fingers and toes are painted on, as are some wrinkles on the neck. The puppet wears a long red tunic that opens at the front and is belted with a yellow paper belt. A matching yellow paper ornament hangs around the neck. Gold edging decorates the cuffs and front opening. Below the tunic is a pink sarong attached above the waist, also decorated with gold down the front. The puppet is controlled by strings attached to the upper back, sides of the head and hands. The arms are moveable at shoulders and elbow, and the legs at the hip and knee.
