Description

Wooden ceremonial dagger that has a four-sided point at one end, and a large hour-glass shaped handle on the other. A human face is carved on the top of the handle end.

History Of Use

Ceremonial copper-breaking tool. As Kwakwaka'wakw society became more affluent and the copper complex more elaborate, a wooden ceremonial version of the wedge was developed to ritually "kill" coppers.
