Description

Small ceramic pot. Body is globular with an indented neck and slightly flaring rim. The rim has several notches taken out of it. The bottom of the pot is rounded and does not sit securely on a flat surface. Two small lizard or frog-like figures protrude from either side of the pot, backs to the viewer, all four legs spread, feet curled. The backs are decorated with two lines of round perforations. One creature is missing its head, while the head of the other is round with a snout and indentations for eyes. Between the creatures are two sets of two upraised vertical lines decorated with perforations. The pot is covered in an orange pigment, with a dark area of carbonization to one side.
