Bracelet Item Number: 2960/13 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Fabric bracelet decorated with monkey teeth. The bracelet is made of a pieces of a woven grey fabric (possibly at one time white?), with thin stripes of green-grey running horizontally. On the interior, the pieces are connected by several strands of a fine, light coloured cord. The exterior of the bracelet is decorated with two lines of small money’s teeth, 123 in all, each with a tiny hole bored through it, all strung onto cords which are sewn to the bracelet.

Narrative

Collected by donor from a man who was wearing the tunic (2960/10), bag (2960/11) and bracelet. The gourd (2960/12 a-c) was being carried in the bag. The man was from a village approximately 110 miles from Pulcallpa.
