Bag Item Number: 2960/11 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

A square fabric bag with a long thin handle. The bag is made of one long narrow piece of cloth folded in half and sewn together along the sides. The top is hemmed with a wide circular stitch. The cloth has vertical stripes of light yellow and dark brown. The handle is thin and sewn to the bag at the top corners. One end of the handle has been allowed to fray into a tassel.

Narrative

Collected by donor from a man who was wearing the tunic (2960/10), bag and bracelet (2960/13). The gourd (2960/12 a-c) was being carried in the bag. The man was from a village approximately 110 miles from Pulcallpa.
