Ceremonial Paddle Item Number: 2960/43 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Paddle carved out a single piece of wood. The blade is thin and leaf shaped, concave and intricately carved with small incised triangles, zigzags and half circles on both surfaces. The shaft is similarly decorated. The grip flares out from the shaft and is circular with a flat base. It too is intricately carved but with a larger pattern of decorated half circles and incised triangles, as well as leaf shaped protrusions around the base. The bottom of the grip has incised concentric circles with triangles.
