Description

Wooden bust of a female. The face is narrow with a small mouth. The nose is short and narrow; the eyes are heavily lidded with white sclera, red surrounding accent, and pupils that are partially bored holes. Thin arching eyebrows sit high on the forehead. The ears are carved as spirals and the hair is black and straight, parted in the centre and styled with a braid around the lower back of the head. Around the long thin neck is a necklace with a heart shaped pendant. Several small, regularly placed holes are bored into the shoulder. The base of the figure is a hollow square with a rectangular cut-out at front and a hole bored at the centre through to the top of the head.

History Of Use

Possibly a headdress ornament?
