Ceramic whistle in shape of a baby on a tall, decorative, red throne-like high chair with a green base. Incised design on the edge of the chair and the base, a blue flower with two golden cones on top of the back of the chair.

Narrative

Since the 19th century, pottery toys from Barcelos have become ubiquitous throughout Portugal. Today they are more elaborate than the whistles and figures first written about by travellers more than a century ago.
