Tapa Cloth Item Number: 2997/1 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Tapa cloth painted on one side. Intricate design of open form crossed lines that create large and small diamond shapes, each filled with a dense pattern of dark painted curved lines emanating from several four-petalled flowers. A solid border is painted around the entire edge.
Although the tapa was collected in Hawaii, it appears to be of Samoan origin.
