Mask Item Number: A7483 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Wooden humanoid mask with small circular eyes, a slightly protruding lower lip, and a disproportionately large, protruding nose--nose appears to be a later addition to the mask and is not painted. Painted red, black, and yellow, with upturned black eyebrows, moustache, and goatee. There are two holes bored at the forehead.

Represents fool: nulhamalha.

Narrative

According to J. Dick, (1966), the mask is probably very old and later copied by many others.
