Cylindrical cork container (a) with light wood strap handle and lid (b) with an incised flower design. The exterior surface of the container is rough brown bark.

History Of Use

Water container. Shepherds in the province used cork cantinas and boxes (see 2956/248-250) to keep their food and water cool and fresh. At the same time they decorated and carved horns (see 2956/254-258) to make containers, and in similar style, wooden religious images (see 2955/45).
