Narrative

This was the first large object Doug Cranmer made on his own. The design concept for the pole was taken from older poles he had seen. He made it for his shop the Talking Stick (near 6th and Granville), a gallery he and Alfred Scow opened circa 1962-67. The Museum purchased it from the shop in 1964.
