Bowl Item Number: 2990/64 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Terracotta bowl with flaring rim, rounded base and polychrome slip decoration. There is a short red border around the interior lip, the top and exterior edge of the lip is black, and below that there are four panels, each with a central human figure adorned with a feathered, pointed hat and holding leaves and an animal (?) or plant (?) in its hands. The colours used in the panels are orange, yellow, mauve, grey and black. The painted surface of almost half of two panels has worn away. The base and bottom 1.5 cm of the sides are dark red.
