Lantern Slide Item Number: 3000/63 a-c from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Double slipper lantern slide. A rectangular wooden frame holds three glass plates side by side. The centre plate is stationary and shows a coloured, printed image of two boys (in four figures) hopping over the other. The boys are vibrantly coloured in yellow, green, red and pink. The background is black. Parts b and c are panes of glass with blotches of black paint carefully placed to intermittently hide elements on the centre slide as they move past it. The frame is built to accommodate the moving slides, having large grooves in each side for the plates to move into, and semi-circular finger holes at the edges.
