Description
Square lantern slide made of two pieces of glass, one with the image painted on it, the other clear, held together by a ‘frame’ of black paper tape. The colour, circular image shows an interior scene with an elderly woman in a shawl, a man in a long brown coat, and a boy facing away from each other and kneeling in prayer. A potted plant sits in the red-curtained window and a round table with long white table cloth holds a tea pot, cup and saucer. The fourth slide in a series of nine. Label: "Hughes, Optician / 151 Hoxton St. London, N" and a paper label in one corner with a large green number "4".
Narrative
From the collection of the missionary Thomas Crosby, who worked in various places on the Northwest Coast of B.C. from 1863 to 1907.
