Description

Bamboo and wood spear. The head is a long, thin section of bamboo, slightly concave, dyed on one side, ending in a sharp point. It is connected to a narrow, dyed wooden shaft by rattan, string and beeswax, which is inserted into a thicker bamboo shaft and bound with woven rattan. A number of thin lines have been scratched around the shaft near the join and at the butt. The bamboo’s nodules have been shaved smooth.
