Description

Clay fragment, believed to be Byzantine in origin, the remnants of a pot recovered from a shipwreck. The piece is the upper shoulder and neck of a pot, in undecorated light orange clay. Neck is short with a large spout, partially broken, and a loop handle that is whole. Cortex of pot is partially eaten away, revealing a darker orange beneath. Interior of vessel is partially covered in white crustaceans.
