Horn Container Item Number: 2956/259 a-b from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Yellow-brown goat horn with a cork plug at one end and a removable plug (part b) at the other end. Fine incised hearts and arches decorate the surface. A star is also carved on the surface and possibly the date 1928(?) above the star.

History Of Use

Shepherds in the province would decorate and carve animal horns to make food and wine containers (also see 2956/255-258).
