Awl Item Number: 3116/9 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Bone awl. The bone itself is the partial ulna of a goat or mule deer. The distal end has been sharpened to a point, while the proximal mass has a small, straight cut in one side.
Used in basket making.
The awl was donated to the museum with a group of baskets and basketry materials made by Annie Gauthier, but it is unknown if she also made or used the awl?
