Coin Item Number: 3095/355 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Byzantine coin of Justinian I, 527-565. Obverse: bust of Justinian I, facing right, with diadem and cloak; to left, inscription says 'IV...T'; to right, it is illegible. Reverse: large 'I'; to left, 'ANNO' in a vertical position; to right, 'XXϚI' in a vertical position; above, cross; exergue is illegible.
"Decanummium" (denomination).
Due to the illegible mint mark in the exergue, it is unclear where this coin comes from. Due to the style of the cloak on the obverse, it is unlikely to be from Constantinople. Collector's envelope suggests Antioch; Nicomedia is another possibility.
