Description
Woven string bag (bilum). Bilum is wide and curved at the base, narrowing toward mouth, where a thin handle is attached at each side.The bag is dyed in horizontal strips of pink and brown interspersed with undyed areas. On front at centre is a zigzag pattern of pink and undyed areas edged with brown. Back has a checkered pattern in pink.

Collected during the donor's time as a missionary nurse in Papua New Guinea, 1964-1970.
