Description

Wool poncho. Woven garment consists of two seperate but identical peices woven together at midpoint where it is folded in half, and has a hole at centre through which fits the wearer's head. Piece is wider at shoulders, narrowing slightly toward bottom. Weave is tight and un-patterned, with decoration consisting of a line of dark blue edged in light blue at bottom on both front and back, dark blue edging along bottom hem and around neck hole, and short, dense fringe along both sides.

Narrative

This collection (3133/1-35) was brought to Vancouver by the donor's father's family, when they moved here from Bolivia in the 1940s.
