Byzantine coin of Maurice Tiberius, 582-602. Obverse: bust of Maurice Tiberius, facing front, in consular robes and crown with trefoil ornament; to left, he holds a mappa; to right, he holds an eagle-tipped sceptre; to left, inscription says ‘ΠITIOCV’; to right, ‘AITPPIV’. Reverse: large ‘XX’; to left, ‘ANNO’ in a vertical position; to right, ‘II’; above, cross; beneath, ‘P’ with a diagonal line attached to the bottom portion.
