Description
Byzantine coin of Maurice Tiberius, 582-602. Obverse: bust of Maurice Tiberius, facing front, wearing crown; to left, he holds a globus cruciger; also to left, there is a large ‘I’, which obscures the inscription; to right, it says either ‘NPPAAV’ or ‘UPPAAV’. Reverse: large ‘M’; to left, ‘ANNO’ in a vertical position; to right, ‘II’; above, cross; beneath, ‘B’; in exergue, ‘NIKO’.
