Description
Byzantine coin of Maurice Tiberius, 582-602. Obverse: bust of Maurice Tiberius, facing front, wearing crown; to left, he holds a globus cruciger; to right, he holds a shield; to left, inscription says ‘OИM’; to right, ‘TIBEP’. Reverse: large ‘M’; to left, ‘ANNO’ in a vertical position; to right, ‘X’; beneath, ‘A’; in exergue, ‘NIKO’. The reverse of the coin appears jumbled, as if it were stamped incorrectly.
