Byzantine coin of Maurice Tiberius, 582-602. Obverse: bust of Maurice Tiberius, facing front, in consular robes and crown with trefoil ornament; to left, he holds a mappa; to right, he holds an eagle-tipped sceptre; to left, inscription says ‘OMI’; to right, ‘TPP’. Reverse: large ‘X’; to left, ‘AN[NO]’ in a vertical position; to right, ‘II’; above, cross; in exergue, ‘P’ or ‘R’.
