Byzantine coin of Maurice Tiberius, 582-602. Obverse: bust of Maurice Tiberius, facing front, in consular robes and crown with trefoil ornament; to left, he holds a mappa; to right, he holds an eagle-tipped sceptre; to left, inscription says ‘D…IN…IA; to right, ‘PPAV’. Reverse: large ‘I’; to left, ‘ANN[O]’ in a vertical position; to right, ‘XIII’ in a vertical position; above, cross; in exergue, ‘TH[E]Ϥ[P]’.
