Gourd Bottle Item Number: 3154/3 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Gourd bottle with cotton net bag. Undecorated drinking gourd for carrying sake is wide and bulbous on bottom, narrowing toward top through decreasingly smaller midsection and neck bulbs. A wooden stopper is inserted into the mouth at top, and is carved in a two-ring design through which a woven dark purple cord is threaded. Cord is woven into the neck of an openly constructed net bag that completely encloses the gourd.
