Description
Byzantine coin of Phocas, 602-610. Obverse: Two rulers standing and facing front, both wearing crowns with crosses; Phocas is on the left, holding a globus cruciger; Empress Leontia is on the right, holding a long cruciform sceptre; to left, inscription is illegible; to right, it says ‘NE’. Reverse: large ‘X’; to left, ‘ANNO’ in a vertical position; to right, numbers are illegible (possibly ‘II’?); in exergue, ‘R’.
