Byzantine coin of Manuel I, 1143-1180. Obverse: bust of Saint George, facing front; he has a halo; he wears a tunic, a cloak, and a cuirass, which is a type of armour; to left, he holds a spear; to right, he holds a shield decorated with dots; to left, inscription says ‘OΓE’; to right, there is a ‘P’ attached to a ‘W’, and then ‘ΓIOS’. Reverse: bust of Manuel I, facing front; he wears a loros, an embroidered and jewelled scarf; to left, he holds a labarum, a military standard; to right, he holds a globus cruciger; to left, inscription says ‘MANɤH’.
