Byzantine coin of Andronicus II, 1282-1328. Obverse: two figures, standing and facing front; to left, Andronicus II; to right, Michael IX, his son and co-emperor; they both wear a loros, an embroidered and jewelled scarf; they also each hold a long cross; between them, they hold a labarum, which is a military standard; above, inscription says ‘AИΔ’. Reverse: monogram consisting of intertwined ‘A’ and ‘Γ’.
