« Les jambières, qui ne semblent pas être celles portées par les jeunes femmes sur la photographie, sont toutes faites d’une seule pièce de feutre de laine rouge et dans leur couture est cousue une bande bordée de feutre vert. Les hauts et les bas sont bordés avec du ruban de coton rose. Il y a une bande de ruban de coton bleu en haut et un motif en point de plume brodé avec du fil jaune juste au-dessus de la bordure du bas. Ces jambières, qui vont des chevilles jusqu’en haut des genoux, rétrécissent légèrement à l’extrémité distale où on trouve des lanières qui se glissent par-dessus le pied. Il y a aussi des lanières à l’extrémité proximale, qui sont enfilées à travers la bordure et qui peuvent ainsi être bien serrées et attachées (fig. 24b). »

« The leggings, which do not appear to be those worn by the young woman in the photograph, are each made from a single piece of red wool felt, into the seam of which is sewn a fringed strip of green felt. The bottoms and tops are edged with pink cotton tape. There is a strip of blue cotton tape at the top and a pattern of feather stitched yellow thread just above the edging at the bottom. These leggings, which reached from the ankles to just above the knees, narrow slightly at the distal end where there are thongs which slip over the feet. There are also thongs at the proximal end which are threaded through the edging and could be drawn tight and tied (fig. 24b). »
