Candlestick Item Number: 3222/1 from the MOA: University of British Columbia

Description

Large ceramic candelabra. Seven round, bulbous sconces sit atop the candelabra, three ascending both sides to the central capital sconce at the peak. Their rims and drip pans are crimped. The multiple labra arms are thick, with curled protrusions, decorated with small incised lines along their lengths. The column has multiple levels, all round, becoming larger toward the base. Several of the levels are crimped, interspersed by bulbous portions. The surface of the object has a glossy shine and is glazed blue at top from sconces to midway down the column, fading to light green, then yellow and finally brown on the base. Interior is hollow, unglazed and undecorated.
