Description
Painted wooden paddle composed of two pieces of wood. The long rounded blade is painted on both sides with formline designs. The shaft is short compared to the blade, and extends out to where a cylindrical grip is attached. Blade front, a label is adhered and shellacked, and on back, another larger label is adhered.

Paddle from Sir Thomas Hesketh's trip to BC c. 1880 - a hunting trip with artist Jules Tavernier.
