Description

Woven silk ikat fabric. The edge of the textile is a solid pinkish red, thinner along the sides, and wide on the ends. The centre is filled with various motifs, geometric designs, and animals (fish, birds). There are four thin pink, yellow and grey striped bands running horizontally across the textile on either end, with three bands of diamond designs within. Top and bottom bands have same diamond designs, central design is different. A small 'Renewal Cambodian Tradition' paper tag is sewn to the top right corner, with a small yellow tag sewn to the same corner, reverse side. Another small handwritten tag is sewn to top left corner.

Purchased by donor's son at an Institute for Khmer Traditional Textiles (IKTT) store in Angkor Wat.
