Narrative

Anthropologist Homer Barnett notes that traditionally, "everybody knew something of woodworking, and the knowledge concerning it was not esoteric or supernaturally sanctioned. Nevertheless, it required considerable training and some men found it convenient and profitable to devote more than a common amount of time to it (1955:107)."
