Fragment: Textile Item Number: 3263/27 from the MOA: University of British Columbia
Fragment of a garment(?). Brown trapezoid shaped textile with dark red band attached to centre. Band has animal and geometric motifs across surface. Scallops and loops along top and edges of band. Designs are of felines standing on top of two diamonds, overtop of two triangles. In each design the colour of the cat matches the colour of the triangles and the colour of the feline's eyes matches the colour of the diamonds. Designs alternate between facing upwards and facing downwards. Motifs done in light green, pink, yellow and dark purple. Textile stitched to cream coloured fabric, secured to off-white matboard.
Possibly from a Chancay or Ychsma (Ishma) garment.
