Description

A wooden carving of a bird with painted motif around its entire body. It has a long narrow neck, a smooth rounded body, a protruding triangular tail and one thick leg that flares outward at the bottom. Figure is drilled onto a wooden base. Head, neck, leg and base are painted dark brown-red. Main body painted dark red and is covered entirely in white hatching. Throughout white hatching are yellow-brown birds with dark red eyes, and white and dark red motifs on their necks, tails and through their middles. Area with painted designs, all carved in relief, trimmed with band of black and dark red lines. The bird’s head has white eyes and a white outline for its mouth.
