Description

Wooden deer-like figure in a standing position (part a). Animal is carved from multiple pieces of wood; all components are painted olive green. Head and body are one piece. Legs, tail (part b) and ears (parts c-d) are separate. Legs are nailed to body, ears and tail are inset. Mouth is incised, eyes and nostrils painted on face. Front bottom edges of legs angle outward sharply, imitating hooves. Mouth and nostrils painted black, eyes done in white. Front bottom edges of hooves painted black. Ears, body, legs and tail decorated with white spots.
