Description

Wooden giraffe figure in a standing position. Animal is carved from multiple pieces of wood; hairy horns are painted black, rest of components are dark red. Head and body are one piece. Legs, tail, ears and hairy horns are separate. Legs and tail nailed to body. Ears and hairy horns are inset and secured with glue. Eyes and mouth are incised, nostrils painted on face. Front bottom edges of legs angle outward sharply, imitating hooves. Black wavy lines painted across forehead, imitating a mane. Eyes are naturally coloured, inner ears painted green, and hooves painted black. Body and legs decorated with large black, irregularly-shaped spots. Vertical stripes painted along bottom end of tail.
