Description

Wooden donkey-like figure in standing position. Animal is carved from multiple pieces of wood; all components are painted light red. Head and body are one piece. Legs, tail and ears are separate. Legs and tail nailed to body. Ears are inset and secured with glue. Eyes, mouth and nostrils are incised. All incisions are painted black. Bottoms of legs are painted black, imitating hooves. Eyes and inner ears are naturally coloured. Black lines painted along outer edges of inner ears. Long black stripe painted down neck of animal, with angled protrusions on either side, imitating forelocks(?). Figure is decorated with black dashes.
