Description

Circular basketry plate with a wide flat base. Lip is slightly angled, sloping gently into centre. Entire plate is decorated with concentric circles. The coils forming the lip are secured together with angled multi-coloured braids. Patterns are visible on interior and exterior. Basket is golden brown, designs done in dark brown. Metal hook attached to rim, for hanging purposes.

Specific Techniques

Basket is formed with woven strands of grass, wrapped in mokola palm fibre.
