Resembles a Kokeshi doll but made in the shape of a lidded bowl; green, red and purple stripes with a wavy purple stripe middle; fifteen characters in differing sizes.

History Of Use

Kokeshi are simple wooden Japanese dolls crafted as toys for children. Originally from the northeastern region of Japan, they are handmade from wood, having a simple, round trunk and head, without arms or legs. They have been in use for at least 150 years.
