Kokeshi style; slightly convex cylinder; rounded shoulders, ringed at neck; two flowers on front two red bows on egg shaped head. Nine characters on back.

History Of Use

Kokeshi are simple wooden Japanese dolls crafted as toys for children. Originally from the northeastern region of Japan, they are handmade from wood, having a simple, round trunk and head, without arms or legs. They have been in use for at least 150 years.
