Kokeshi style; wide red and narrow green bands at top and bottom; slightly concave cylinder; three red flowers vertically arranged on front; face and hair roughly painted. Seven characters on base.

History Of Use

Kokeshi are simple wooden Japanese dolls crafted as toys for children. Originally from the northeastern region of Japan, they are handmade from wood, having a simple, round trunk and head, without arms or legs. They have been in use for at least 150 years.
