Kokeshi style doll. Narrow bands at waist, red, green and purple. Two red bands at bottom. Five flowers vertically placed on front. Ten characters on base. Surface damage.

History Of Use

Kokeshi are simple wooden Japanese dolls crafted as toys for children. Originally from the northeastern region of Japan, they are handmade from wood, having a simple, round trunk and head, without arms or legs. They have been in use for at least 150 years.
