Kokeshi style doll. Incised circle at base. Red and green bands at top and bottom. Four large red flowers at front with two red flowers in hair. Seven characters on base.

History Of Use

Kokeshi are simple wooden Japanese dolls crafted as toys for children. Originally from the northeastern region of Japan, they are handmade from wood, having a simple, round trunk and head, without arms or legs. They have been in use for at least 150 years.
