Kokeshi style doll. Red band at bottom and at shoulder, narrow red and green band towards centre on body. Two large red flowers, five smaller flowers in circular distribution around them. Black hair covering head and green disc at top. Three characters on base.

History Of Use

Kokeshi are simple wooden Japanese dolls crafted as toys for children. Originally from the northeastern region of Japan, they are handmade from wood, having a simple, round trunk and head, without arms or legs. They have been in use for at least 150 years.
