Incised circle at rear of base; kokeshi style; cylinder rounding into shoulders. Two wide green bands at top and bottom. Three abstract floral designs vertically placed on front. Green bow? with yellow and red designs on top of head. Twelve characters on back.

History Of Use

Kokeshi are simple wooden Japanese dolls crafted as toys for children. Originally from the northeastern region of Japan, they are handmade from wood, having a simple, round trunk and head, without arms or legs. They have been in use for at least 150 years.
